NC State is full of traditions! During Wolfpack Welcome Week (WWW) you’ll begin to experience the best of NC State and create a foundation for a successful academic year. As we welcome our new students to the Wolfpack community, WWW is your time to learn about your new home, make new friends, build your community, and explore exciting ways to engage in and outside of the classroom. WWW also welcomes back returning students, faculty, and staff, as we reconnect with old friends and build upon the excitement for another year at NC State. With over 100 events and activities taking place — there’s something for everyone. By engaging in Wolfpack Welcome Week events and activities, we hope you will:
- Develop a sense of community with NC State
- Develop a sense of community with student organizations and small social groups
- Develop the skills needed to thrive in the classroom
- Identify university expectations

Welcome Week FAQ
Students are strongly encouraged, but not required to attend events during Wolfpack Welcome Week. This is an opportunity to connect with peers, faculty, and staff across campus as you learn more about what there is to offer at NC State!
Absolutely! Many events will be held virtually this year, so whether you’ve already moved into your residence hall or not, we welcome you to go ahead and get connected to your peers and the NC State community! If you are local to campus and interested in attending in person events, even if you don’t live on campus, you are invited to attend those too!
Yes! With new guidance from Governor Cooper regarding North Carolina’s phase 2 status, the University is still working with in-person event planners to solidify safety procedures. Virtual events will be added to the schedule first, and then as plans are solidified, in-person events will be added to the schedule and notifications sent to anyone with the guide downloaded.
Contact New Student Programs via email: new-students@ncsu.edu or phone: 919-515-1234 for any accommodations to virtual or in-person events.
