New students beginning at NC State in the spring 2023 semester will register for classes from home during the fall on MyPack Portal. Course registration takes place after you have completed academic advising either through online modules and/or advising meetings. Spring Connect students and students who deferred enrollment from fall to spring are assigned priority registration times taking place in late-October 2022. Review the timeline and information below to understand how to prepare for registering for your first semester of courses.

Early-October 2022Spring 2023 Class Schedule Available Online  

View courses in the Class Search Tool or in the Enrollment Wizard on MyPack Portal.
October 7, 2022Placement Test Deadline

You may need to complete online assessments for chemistry, foreign language, math, and/or writing before course registration. Review information and get started on the Placement Testing webpage. The tests won’t close on the deadline, so if you miss it, just take them as soon as you are able to ensure timely registration.

Note: The Chemistry Placement Exam will be available from February 21 to August 19, 2022, and then again beginning September 26, 2022
Mid-October 2022Virtual Academic Advising

Get details on the academic advising process for your college or program below. You must complete academic advising before enrolling in courses.
Late-October 2022Online Course Registration Begins

After completing academic advising, students may then register for classes online using the MyPack Portal Enrollment Wizard ( at their assigned enrollment start day and time. Spring Connect students are assigned priority appointment times taking place in late-October.

To find your specific enrollment date and time, navigate to MyPack Portal > Student Homepage > Planning & Enrollment tile.

December 1, 2022Suggested Registration Deadline

We recommend students register for a full-time schedule by December 2, 2022 to ensure the greatest course availability. You can still make changes to your schedule after this time.
The table is a schedule of advising and course registration activities. Column 1 lists the date and column 2 describes the activity taking place.

Registration and Records and the academic advising team in your college or program will primarily contact you via email with updates and action items. Check your email daily, including both the personal email you have on file with Undergraduate Admissions and your @ncsu email.

Visit the Enrollment section within MyPack Portal or through the online Schedule of Courses (select the “2023 Fall Termâ€).
