Inclement Weather and Spring Orientation

Due to inclement weather, the NC State campus is operating under a delayed opening, and as such, the Spring Orientation program will take place today but with an abbreviated schedule. Spring Orientation check-in will begin at 12:00pm in Talley Student Union and will conclude around 5:00pm. Parking is available via the Coliseum Parking Deck (201 Jeter Drive).
Please note that weather may be different in different areas of the state; therefore, students and families should take reasonable precautions for personal safety based upon the conditions they are experiencing in their locations. The safety of students and families are of the utmost importance and should take precedence over traveling for Spring Orientation.
If you are unable to attend due to the weather, we will be offering an alternative orientation opportunity on Sunday, January 7. More specific information will be shared with you on Thursday evening via email.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the eastern and central North Carolina region with wintry precipitation expected east of Interstate 95.
The University is closely monitoring the forecast and will notify all students, faculty, and staff should local conditions deteriorate and affect the status of the University (including orientation, programs, events, and activities).
The Spring Orientation session for first-year students and families scheduled on Thursday, January 4 will occur as long as the University is open. If the University closes on Thursday, the orientation session will be cancelled, and you will receive an additional email that will outline alternatives for completing your orientation requirement.

Additional communications will be forthcoming only as changing weather conditions may mandate. Otherwise, all operations will be considered to be on normal schedules.
